Keep your student-athletes active during the upcoming break with the Gulfport School District Athletic Intersession Camps, running September 29 through October 2, 2026! 🏀⚽

Open to all students in grades K through 6th, these four-day camps offer a fantastic opportunity to sharpen fundamentals, build confidence, and learn directly from Admirals coaches and players. 🎒

Please bring your completed registration form and payment to the athletic office before camp starts. Registrations and payments will also be accepted at drop-off on the first day. 💵

Repost from Central Elementary: Our Quest 4th & 5th grade students had an incredible experience connecting with the research team aboard the E/V Nautilus! Through a live virtual session, they got a behind-the-scenes look at the cutting-edge technology and underwater robotics driving modern ocean exploration. Beyond seeing the equipment in action, the students were able to engage directly with the researchers, asking insightful questions about their work and the pathways into careers in marine science and technology. Opportunities like these are vital for sparking curiosity and showing students the real-world impact of STEM education. We’re so proud of our students for their engagement and are excited to see where this inspiration leads them.

Repost from BVMS: Our 8th grade science students stepped into the shoes of genetic engineers to explore the fascinating world of DNA, genetic traits, and cell division! Students kicked off the lab by building custom DNA segments following precise genetic blueprints. Next, they took part in an interactive gallery walk—decoding their DNA strands to reveal physical traits and hunting down unexpected genetic mutations hidden within the code. To top it all off, learning got a little sweet! Students used gummy worms to model meiosis, demonstrating how chromosomes swap segments during "crossing over" to exchange genetic material and create unique traits. Hands-on science makes complex concepts stick! Ask your student what unique traits their DNA sequence coded for!

The Gulfport School District proudly celebrated the official opening of Admiral Stadium with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, marking a historic milestone as Gulfport High School welcomed its first on-campus football stadium. In partnership with the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, the ceremony brought together Mayor of Gulfport Hugh Keating, members of the Gulfport City Council, the GSD Board of Trustees, Gulfport High School administration, district leadership, and community supporters. Mayor Keating had the honor of cutting the ribbon, officially opening the new stadium. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this significant milestone for Gulfport High School and the Gulfport community. We look forward to the many memories and traditions to come at Jim Rose Field at Admiral Stadium. ⚓️🏈

GHS Art Department was asked to participate with a research project sponsored by Coast Young Professionals and Thalassas. Research is related to cigarette litter and our local beaches. A butt disposal receptacle was painted and will be placed in Jones park on Sat 9/12 during their Beach Clean Up event. Gulfport students are encouraged to participate.
